Heart of Dixie Quilt Guild Meeting Notes – Oct 13, 2013
· Treasurer’s report: the deposit for the retreat was sent to Sunset Inn.
· Ginny will bring October’s installment of birdhouses and birds to the Nov meeting.
· Mary Ann distributed the next chapter of the mystery quilt project.
· Retreat notes: only a few more weeks! For those attending the retreat, bring a 2.5” WOF strip of tone on tone background (neutral) fabric for each of the 13 attendees + a $1 – $2 gift (optional). Linda will lead a project Friday night- the kit is $8 for those interested in participating.
· As many have already heard, Heart to Heart quilt shop is closing. All materials, notions, and supplies are on sale.
· The Alphabet Soup baby quilt challenge brought in 6 finished quilts plus three tops. We also collected another 15 quilts from Melisa and Marian. Thanks to everyone who has donated a quilt!
· Diana taught a new method of making t-shirt quilts. This method uses only the focus areas of a t-shirt, which are then machine appliqued onto a base quilt.
· Next meeting: Nov 11. Retreat: Nov 14-17.
